A school guard is just an obstacle for an authorized Singaporean driver to overcome (Video)
A reckless driver nearly ran over a security guard at a school this morning after being refused entry.
Education Minister Chan Chun Sing denounced the incident involving a Bentley driver who refused to stop at the entrance to Red Swastika School in Bedok despite being blocked by the security guard. . Chan said the ministry was investigating the driver, who allegedly cut the line, and would consider filing a police report.
“This is unacceptable behavior. This is not the way we have to behave towards our security staff and school staff who go about their duties to keep our schools and our children safe, ”he wrote today . “We are reviewing the matter and will not hesitate to make a police report if warranted.”
A clip of the encounter showed the driver hogging the track while others could be heard honking behind. A passenger in the white car appears to be arguing with school staff while taking photos. The driver continues to move forward and enter the security guard who uses his body weight to stop the vehicle.
The video indicated that this happened around 7:30 a.m. The driver was eventually cleared in after blocking traffic for about 15 minutes.
The Union of Security Employees told media the car cut the line during the morning rush hour and a police report was filed.
After the story was published, police said late Tuesday afternoon that they arrested a 61-year-old man for “a reckless act causing injury” after security guard Neo Ah Whatt, 62 years old, was slightly injured. They did not disclose the name of the suspect.
