Adele Roberts shares photos of her ostomy bag after cancer diagnosis

Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts shared photos of her ostomy bag following her diagnosis of bowel cancer.

The 42-year-old I am a celebrity star revealed last week that she had been diagnosed with the disease, and had to undergo surgery to remove a tumor.

Following the treatment, she had an ostomy bag installed, which helps remove wastes from the body when they cannot be completely passed through the intestine.

Sharing the new addition to her body, Roberts was seen lifting her surgical gown to reveal the gray bag attached to her abdomen.

She said the bag “helped save her life”, although it took some adjustment to get used to.

Along with the collection of photographs, taken as she left hospital, Roberts praised the NHS for its rescue work.

She wrote: “I think this is my favorite selfie. I suck at selfies but loved taking this one. I’m bruised… I keep finding new holes but I’m recovering and this little ostomy bag saved my life.

“I’m still learning how to take care of it. It has been a roller coaster so far. I feel like I need a trainer to help me tame it. It’s wild! Haha. He does what he wants when he wants … but I’m sure I will. Get ready Kate because our new guest looks very naughty.

“I admit it was overwhelming at times,” added the star. “A lot for me to take in. Everything has happened so quickly from diagnosis to treatment, but that’s the shine of the NHS.

“I am very grateful to them and I know I am very lucky.”

Roberts then thanked fans for their continued support after the diagnosis was announced and urged others to get checked out if they were showing symptoms.

“I have a bit of a wait to hear about my tumor and what it will mean for the future, but my fingers are crossed, this is good news,” she concluded. “Either way, I’m thankful for one thing in all of this. It reminded me to LIVE THE LIFE. “

She then mocked her new fashion accessory by asking her followers to help her choose between gray, beige or black.

After giving the options, she went with the public vote and went for gray.

His optimism over the diagnosis has been praised by fans and his famous friends who have flocked to lend their support.

Nadine Coyle dubbed Roberts: “Our strong and courageous girl” while her Radio 1 co-star Matt Edmondson wrote: “You are amazing Adele. Sending all the love in the world.
