How to swim, buy wetsuit in Animal Crossing summer update

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has released with a summer update, and perhaps the most exciting part of this is the ability to swim.

“Put on your wetsuit to dive and swim in the ocean,” the game tweeted last month.

Now that the update is finally here, you might be trying to figure out exactly how to swim. No worries, because we’ve got you covered below. First, however, you’re going to want to download the new update. Look at the top right of the title screen to make sure you have Ver. 1.3.0.

How to get a combination in Animal Crossing

Before you can swim, you will need to purchase a wetsuit. You can do this by going to Nook’s Cranny and buying one by spending 3,000 bells. You can find one at the display case, near the tools. We understand that the design of the suit will change in the store every day, so if you don’t like the one provided, you can wait and buy a different one.

When you receive your suit, you will need to equip it on your body. Then head to the ocean and press A to dive. Once you are in the ocean, keep pressing A to swim.

To exit the water, simply swim to the shore and your character will come out. Consider wearing your usual clothes, unless you like the wetsuit look.

How to find sea creatures while swimming in Animal Crossing

One of the perks of being able to swim in Animal Crossing is that you can now find sea creatures in the ocean.

“Swim in the inviting waters off your island’s coast and dive in to discover and collect the sea creatures that inhabit your island’s ecosystem,” a statement read. “Keep your eyes peeled for any possible additions to the museum, and be sure to listen to the Blathers fun facts when donating your new finds.”

To get sea creatures you have to press Y to dive. You should see a dark shadow in the water. Just swim up to them and your character will pick it up. Different sea creatures will appear depending on certain circumstances, such as weather and season.

If you manage to find a scallop, Pascal the Red Otter will appear and offer to trade you the scallop for a DIY Mermaid Recipe.
