Rush debut caught Vikings off guard, Prescott could be ‘full blast’, Tyron Smith on a daily basis

Cowboys fans have spent the entire week unsure of what to expect regarding the Dallas starting quarterback situation. Turns out the Vikings’ defense did too. A former Cowboys defenseman who now wears purple said the unit was perfectly prepared to see the No.4 behind center. Cooper Rush says his first NFL start in his storybook was as good as he’d dreamed it would be, and the stats put his Sunday night at the top of a very special list. Former Cowboys security revealed that Rush’s debut caught them off guard. “We kind of thought they were always going to perform the same attack,” Woods said. “So we just prepared for 4 all week. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said the team would change their defensive strategy if necessary, charging the box against the run and forcing Rush to beat them in the air. Minnesota ended up loading the box on just 17% of Dallas’ rush attempts.

The substitute quarterback estimated he had adjusted for “about 50” games he never got to play.
