Sixers star Ben Simmons ranked 8th best point guard in the NBA

Ben Simmons may not be with the Philadelphia 76ers as he tries to force a trade. If his resistance may call into question his will, there is little doubt about his talent.

At 25, Simmons was named a three-time All-Star. He was named to an All-NBA team and he made two consecutive first-team All-Defensive appearances. Despite his obvious limitations on the offensive side, he is one of the best talent in the league.

Prior to the start of the 2021-22 season, CBS Sports compiled a list of The 15 best point guard in the NBA and Simmons was ranked 8th:

As far as Simmons goes, the main questions at this point are when will he play his next NBA game and which team will it be for? Simmons is in the midst of a messy public divorce from the 76ers, and he’s made it clear he has no intention of playing until he is traded. The Sixers, however, are in no rush to move, so both sides are basically stuck in a stalemate at the moment. Whenever Simmons eventually re-plays, he’ll bring elite defense and a playmaker to any team he’s on.

No matter where Simmons goes, he will always be an All-Star player. The guy is super talented and he can do almost anything on the floor. The point is, the only thing he can’t or won’t do is follow him through his career and stay a problem. He needs to add a jump shot to his arsenal to take the next step in this league.
