Opened in 1915, Langside Library offers a wide range of services and activities in relaxing and inspiring surroundings. With thousands of books and a programme of weekly classes and events, our friendly staff will always be on hand to help you get the most out of your visits.

Designed by Glasgow School of Art Students in the 1920’s, the twenty-one foot by seven foot mural for Langside Library was entitled ‘Queen Mary at the Battle of Langside’ and was official handed over to the Corporation of the City of Glasgow on the 6th January 1920.

The PC area of the library which also has a table and soft blue chairs for reading or for meeting groups. The high ceiling is curves and has a long, grid, colonial-style skylight.
A large spacios childrens area which is long and rectangular. There are wooden bookshelves filled with colourful children's books along the perimeter of the room. There is a high curved ceiling with a long grid-colonial style skylight. There is wooden panelling around a third of the walls. The rest of the walls and ceiling are painted white. There is also colourful children's artwork on the walls, tables and chairs and colourful book storage boxes in the middle of the room.
